How many people are playing Dota 2 right now?
Steam reports 679,764 concurrent players in the current reading. This is a snapshot, not a count of unique players over a day.
Is this the all-time peak player count?
No. The observed peak is only the largest recorded sample in the displayed collection window. Collection targets one snapshot every 15 minutes and retains up to seven days; activity between samples and earlier records are not included.
Are these daily or monthly active users?
No. Concurrent players are players counted at one moment by the Steam API. Daily and monthly unique users cannot be calculated by adding these snapshots.
